PUPPET PARTS FILM FEST

On Saturday January 12^th, 2008 Geppetto Dreams Puppet Company will host Austin’s 1^st annual puppet film festival “Puppet Parts” at The Off Center 2211-A Hidalgo Street from 1-4 pm. The objective of the Puppet Parts Festival is to renew and rejuvenate interest in puppetry arts. As well as celebrate the diverse group of artists and filmmakers who’ve chosen puppetry as their art form. This year features 11 diverse films from Los Angeles, Phoenix, Washington, Austin, and New York. Also that evening from 7pm to 8:30pm Geppetto Dreams Puppet Company will be performing scenes from their Creative Capital funded puppet Burlesque show “Miss MiMi’s as well as scenes from their latest production a blacklight show entitled “The Dead Pirates Society!” The shows carry a PG rating and might not be suitable for all ages. Tickets for the 2 events are $15 for both or $8 for the film fest or the live show.

All proceeds will benefit Geppetto Dreams Puppet Company, a Non Profit theater company whose mission is to integrate puppetry into the lives of the Austin community through art education, experimental opportunities for the public, and nurturing the creative process of other puppetry artists by giving them a venue to share their visions.
