Its Saturday night and the hottest spot in town is jumpin... Miss Mimi's House of Burlesque!
Mimi's is an hour-long presentation of movement, light, sound and sensuality. The shows stars are 36 inch anthropomorphic Bunraku style puppets. Your host is the last of the red-hot piggies, Miss Mimi. Keeping the crowd going with her sultry singing voice, she also keeps them rolling in the aisles with laughter as she and top banana Little Pauly Penguin, perform the old routines that madeburlesque infamous.

But burlesque wouldn't be burlesque without a bevy of exotic dancers. Mimi's boasts the talents of Solange, wolf-girl, who amazes with a gymnastic cirque piece. Sultry black panther girl, Josephine, performing the traditional fan dance made famous by BurlesqueQueen, Sally Rand. Bunny girl, Thumper makes the show pop with her balloon routine and being an equal opportunity employer, Mimi's presents King of the beasts, JA Lion, who proves that dance lessons aren't just for girls.

This is traditional Bunraku where Mimi's puppeteers are in plain sight, dressed in black clothes and hoods. It takes two to three puppeteers to put the dancers through their paces so the audience has the opportunity to see the teamwork and fluid movement it takes to bring each character to life. I feel this style will make the experience not only visually entertaining but
educational as well. Also, so every seat in the house is a good one, the puppets routines will be video taped and projected on a larger than life screen.

Due to the unique nature of the show combined with the sudden surge of interest in old time burlesque and vaudeville shows, this performance will appeal to a wide variety people from 18 to 80. I plan to promote in a variety of ways, press kits, an internet campaign, local/colleges newspapers, and in the tradition of the traveling show, an advance person to distribute flyers, hang posters and perform street shows with Miss Mimi. Mimi's is a traveling show meant for colleges, and small/mid sized venues. My wish is to tour the show throughout North America, Asia, and Europe...
